Saige Elizabeth!

My family got together last night to celebrate the 4th of July and the arrival of Saige Elizabeth. Saige was born on Wednesday, June 29, weighing 8lbs. 8oz. She is adorable and looks a lot like her big sister, Kaiya. Saige is the third baby girl added to our family in the past 9 months and we will add one more girl to the family in November, when Katie and Dustin's baby arrives. Poor Jack is completely outnumbered being the only grandson!

Reiman Gardens

Jay and I had some time to kill in Ames while the dogs were getting groomed, so we decided to take the kids to Reiman Gardens at ISU. We had a great time walking through all the gardens and greenhouses. It was really impressive. Jack loved running around in the grass and he especially loved all the water features. We had to constantly remind him that he was not allowed to go in the water! It was a beautiful and relaxing morning for us all and a great way to pass the time.

3 months old!

Miss Katy Mae is 3 months old! She is a very sweet little girl who is always happy and content. We rarely hear her cry or fuss. She is usually full of smiles and on occasion we even hear her laugh. She is a great sleeper too. She take long naps during the day and she sleeps at least 10 hours at night....this makes Mommy very happy! Jack still loves his baby sister. He is always asking to hold her, but it usually only lasts for about 5 seconds before he is "all done!" We are really enjoying our time with her right now and wishing there was a way to keep her from growing so fast!

Blank Park Zoo!

A group of us visited Blank Park Zoo today. After a week of rainy weather, we were happy for a warm, sunny day! The kids seemed to have a great time. They were able to feed the birds and giraffes and they had fun watching the lions. Unfortunately, the zoo was under construction, so it made our visit a little less enjoyable. However, the kids (especially the boys), loved watching the construction workers at work. Jack is in love with all big trucks and construction equipment, so he thought it was great! The rest of us are hoping the construction will be completed by the next time we visit the zoo!

Happy Father's Day!

The Johnson family had a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day this year. Our day was complete with church, Hy-Vee breakfast, and an afternoon in the swimming pool. Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa McCulla even joined us for the afternoon! I am so blessed to have a wonderful dad who has been such a great role-model for me. And I am even more happy to have a husband who shares many of the great qualities I see in my dad! I love them both so much!!

Katy's first time swimming

We put Katy in the pool for the first time tonight. Its a little hard to tell from her facial expressions, but we think she loved it! She was very content and happy the entire time. I think she enjoyed watching big brother splash and play in the water. Hopefully she will enjoy the water as much as he does as she gets older!

2 months old!

Kate is already two months old and doing great! She is a very content and laid-back baby, similar to how I remember Jack as a baby. She is eating and sleeping great. She recently started sleeping 8 hours at night, so I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that continues! She also started smiling around 5-6 weeks old. We are seeing a lot of smiles from her now, which we really enjoy. She did have somewhat of a bad month battling a bad case of baby acne and cradle cap. Between that and her blocked tear-duct, she was in rough shape! Luckily, it seemed to bother mom and dad more than it did her. She didn't seemed phased by anyof it! I am happy to report that she no longer has a blocked tear-duct and the baby acne and cradle cap are almost gone too!
