Katy's Baptism

Katy was baptized this morning at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. The baptism was performed after the 11:00 AM church service and then we all headed to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's for lunch. Thank you to all our friends and family who joined us and helped to make it a great day!

Johnson Family Day at the Lake

The Johnson family spent the day at Sun Valley Lake celebrating Stephen's birthday (Jay's only cousin) and Alberta's 91st birthday. Stephen and Audrey live in Phoenix so we don't get a chance to see them very often. It was a fun filled day hanging out on the beach, swimming, boating, jet skiing, and grilling....and with 7 kids under the age of 6, it was a lot of chaos!!

Happy 4th of July!

The Johnson Family had a great time celebrating the 4th of July this year. We started off the day at the Urbandale parade with our good friends, Adam and Julie (and their little girl, Brooklyn). Jack loved watching the parade. It was no surprise that the firetrucks were his favorite! He also enjoyed chomping down the suckers and popsicles that were thrown out to the crowd. After the parade, we walked down to the carnival. By the time we got there, all the kids were sound asleep. We took advantage of this time by playing bingo. Jay and I were very close to winning several times, but unfortunately, we left empty-handed. Jack woke up just in time for a ride on the carousel, which he seemed to enjoy. After the carnival, we all went home and enjoyed a few hours of swimming in the pool with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Brittany, and cousins Avree and Emmersen. Then, we ended the night with a few fireworks and sparklers in our neighbor's driveway. It was a long, but fun day! God Bless America!

Saige Elizabeth!

My family got together last night to celebrate the 4th of July and the arrival of Saige Elizabeth. Saige was born on Wednesday, June 29, weighing 8lbs. 8oz. She is adorable and looks a lot like her big sister, Kaiya. Saige is the third baby girl added to our family in the past 9 months and we will add one more girl to the family in November, when Katie and Dustin's baby arrives. Poor Jack is completely outnumbered being the only grandson!

Reiman Gardens

Jay and I had some time to kill in Ames while the dogs were getting groomed, so we decided to take the kids to Reiman Gardens at ISU. We had a great time walking through all the gardens and greenhouses. It was really impressive. Jack loved running around in the grass and he especially loved all the water features. We had to constantly remind him that he was not allowed to go in the water! It was a beautiful and relaxing morning for us all and a great way to pass the time.
