Final Ultrasound

I had my 3rd and final ultrasound today.  At the last ultrasound, they found that I had a marginal cord insertion.  This just means the umbilical attached to the side of the placenta, rather than in the center.  This required me to have another follow-up ultrasound to check the baby's growth.  Everything from the ultrasound today looked good and the baby is growing as it should.  Based upon the measurements taken, they think this baby weighs about 5 pounds right now.  We tried getting a few more pictures of this baby, but it was a little challenging as he or she was practically kissing the placenta (as you can tell from the first picture!)  It's hard to believe that in just 6 short weeks we will get to meet this sweet little one.  We are so excited!

Baby Bump

I figured it was about time I took some pictures of my growing belly!  These pictures were taken at 32 weeks.  I went back and found a picture of me pregnant with Katy at 31 weeks, but was unable to find any pictures from my pregnancy with Jack that were close to the same time.

Phoenix trip

The Johnson family returned home late last night from a week long trip to Phoenix.  We were so excited to get out of the house and leave the cold weather behind!  We had a fun-filled week spent playing golf, shopping, visiting the zoo, eating at In-N-Out, swimming, watching a Phoenix Suns basketball game, and spending time outside in the fresh air!   We were sad to return home at the end of the week to the cold weather and snow on the ground, but are happy in the fact that Spring is just around the corner.  We have a lot to look forward to this year!

Katy's 1st haircut

Katy had her first haircut today!  I did not do a very good job of taking before and after pictures, mostly because we did not cut off very much hair.  She just got a trim in the back to help even things out.  I did, however, manage to snap a few cute pictures of her in the chair!

Ultrasound - 28 weeks

At my 20 week ultrasound, they discovered I had a low-lying placenta.  My doctor was not too concerned, but it did require me to have another ultrasound today at 28 weeks.  As expected, they found that my placenta had moved far enough away from my cervix and there was no longer a cause for concern.  Below are a few pictures from the ultrasound this morning.  Seeing these pictures makes me more and more excited for this little one's arrival in just a few short months!

21 months!

Katy is 21 months old!  She is still such a joy in our lives.  She is a happy and silly girl and we are having so much fun with her.  She is learning new things every day and it is fun to watch.  Her favorite things as of late are giving hugs and kisses (she is such a sweet girl!), putting things on her head (showing her silly side!), copying anything she sees Jack doing (which is usually something naughty!), brushing her teeth, singing the ABC song, eating, and loving on her mama.  Its hard to believe that her 2nd birthday is just around the corner!
