Jack's newborn pictures

We had professional pictures taken of Jack a few weeks ago. Jack cooperated really well and the pictures turned out great!!

Jack is still doing wonderful! He is more alert and awake during the day and he is starting to smile a little when we talk to him, which we love! Jay is in New York this week for training so Jack and I have the house to ourselves. Grandma Hansch and "Aunt" Katy may stay with us a few days so we look forward to spending time with them.

4 weeks old!

We can hardly believe Jack is 4 weeks old already!! This past month has really flown by. We are slowly starting to establish our routine with the little guy. He is getting up 1-2 times at night, so Mommy and Daddy still feel a little sleep deprived...but we are hanging in there! Overall, he is a very happy and content baby. We feel very blessed and can't imagine life without him!!

Tulip Time

We had our first successful family outing with Jack this past Friday. We decided to drive down to Pella to see the family and to let Jack experience his first Tulip Time! As you can tell from the pictures, he had great time...I think he spent most of the day sleeping!

First week home

It is hard to believe that Jack is already one week old! Things are going well, and everyone is adjusting to our new routine (sleeping, eating, changing diapers, sleeping, eating, changing diapers...). So far he has been a great baby. He sleeps well, eats well and rarely fusses...we hope that continues. Birdie and Bogey seem to really like their new little brother. Birdie wasn't so sure at first, but has come around, and Bogey just can't get enough. He is always aware of Jack's whereabouts and tries to give him as many kisses as he can.

We are off to see the doctor tomorrow for Jack's one week appointment. We are very anxious to check out the scale and see how much the little guy weighs. We will keep everyone updated on his progress.

Baby J has arrived!!

Jack William Johnson arrived at 5:09pm on Friday, April 24, 2009. He weighed 8lbs 5oz and is 20 inches long. Everyone is doing great and we look forward to going home tomorrow!

38 1/2 weeks and counting!

I have reached 38 weeks and am getting more and more uncomfortable by the minute!! At my doctor's appointment last week, I found out that I was 1-2 cm dilated and 90% effaced. Although that really gives me no indication of when this baby will come, I know that something is happening and it at least gives me hope that the end is in sight!!

My last day of work is tomorrow, so I am looking forward to a few days off before the baby comes to do some last minute things around the house and to rest up as much as possible! My next doctor's appointment is on Friday, so I will try to post an update this weekend.

Happy 1st Birthday Avree!

My niece Avree and Grandpa McCulla celebrated their birthdays on Saturday. They both enjoyed their very own cakes (courtesy of Brittany)....but I think its safe to say from the pictures below that Avree enjoyed hers a little more than Dad! I have never seen a 1-year old eat so much cake (and frosting)...I can only imagine the sugar high she was on after every one left. I am sure Matt and Brittany enjoyed that experience!!
