Happy Halloween!

Jack wishes all his family and friends a happy Halloween!! Our little lion had an exciting first Halloween. He helped Daddy hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters on beggar's night and he also spent an afternoon playing with the Johnson cousins in their costumes. Unfortunately for Jack, he will have to wait until next year to enjoy the Halloween candy!

6 months old!

Jack is now 6 months old and continues to be a blessing in our lives! We have seen lots of changes in him over the past month. The biggest change being how active he has become! He started sitting up around 5 months old, but he really didn't have it mastered until 5.5 to 6 months. Now, he sits like a champ! He is also getting very close to crawling. (Yikes!! I am starting to worry about all the baby-proofing I still need to do around the house). Right now, he hasn't figured out how to get his hands and legs to move together. He will get up on his hands and knees and start rocking back and forth, but when he tries to move forward, he falls on his tummy. In the meantime, he manages to get anywhere he wants by rolling! Everytime I turn my head, Jack is in a different corner of the room! Yes, the days of him staying in one place are definitely over! We are having so much fun with him right now. He is still a very happy baby and it is rare to find him without a smile on his face!

The pumpkin patch

This past Saturday, we went to Carroll's Pumpkin Farm with Brian, Tricia and the kids. We also met up with Brian and Tricia's friends, the Miller's. We were hoping for good weather that day, but it ended up being very chilly! The older kids had a great time as there were a lot of fun activities for them (and of course they didn't mind the cold!) Jack, on the other hand, was less than amused and would have preferred to stay inside! Hopefully Jack's visit to the pumpkin patch next year will be a little more exciting!

New camera

I took the plunge several weeks ago and purchased a new digital camera. Jack is growing and changing so much and I wanted a better camera to capture the moments. The camera is fairly high-tech and I still have a lot to learn (thank goodness for auto mode)...but I am having fun playing around with it and learning all the features. Right now Jack is a good model to photograph, however I know that will be changing over the next few months as he becomes more mobile! Here are a few pictures I have taken so far:

Rice cereal

Jack had another first today.....rice cereal! He seemed very excited about his cereal....he kept opening his mouth looking for more. However, I think more of it ended up on his bib rather than in his mouth!

5 months old

Our little boy is five months old today!! He sure is growing up fast!! He has had a very busy month....learning lots of new things. He loves playing with his toys and watching the dogs. He is also very close to sitting on his own! He is such a happy baby and he always has a smile on his face. Daddy can really getting him laughing out loud and his laugh is very contagious! As you can tell, we are having so much fun with him!

We thought it would be fun to take a few pictures of Jack with his new cousin Tyler. Tyler Neil Johnson was born on September 7, 2009 and he is very cute!! Its hard to believe Jack was ever that little!!

We also tried to get a few pictures with cousin Ava...but she didn't like that idea too much!
