Weekend at the lake with friends

The Johnson family headed back down to Sun Valley Lake this past weekend with a few friends. We were excited to be down at the lake again....it had been almost a month since we were last there. The weather on Saturday was not too great....mostly overcast the entire day. But we didn't let that stop us from having a good time! Luckily the sun was out and shining when we woke up on Sunday morning. We had a great time boating, swimming, grilling, and sitting by the fire with good friends!

15 months old!

The little monkey is 15 months old and just as busy as ever! Jack loves to play outside with his little tractor and he also loves his baseball bat. Just recently he has taken a liking to his golf club set, but he still doesn't quite understand how to swing the club. Daddy will have to work with him on that! Jack also loves swimming in his pool and he enjoys climbing on his water table......yes, we have a climber on our hands! He still isn't saying any words...just lots of jibberish! Jack was only in the 3rd percentile for weight at his last doctor's appointment. He is a tiny little guy...which is hard to believe based on how much this kid eats! All in all, he is a busy, happy little boy and he puts a smile on our faces every day!

Las Vegas!

This past weekend, a few friends from Nashville and a few friends from Iowa met up in Las Vegas to celebrate Steph's bachelorette party! The weekend was filled with dancing, gambling, swimming at the pool, lots of laughs, and some great memories!! I had never been to Vegas before, so I was excited to see what it was all about. Luckily, Vegas didn't disappoint! We were fortunate to stay at a great hotel (Caesar's Palace) and I was excited to learn a thing or two about blackjack. I am happy to report that after the many hours we spent at the blackjack tables, I didn't lose any money! However, I didn't win any money either....which was just fine by me. I was pleased with how I did considering I had no past experience with gambling! I was so exhausted by the time I got home that I felt like I needed another vacation just to relax and catch up on sleep!

Happy 4th of July!

The Johnson family celebrated the 4th of July in Sperry, IA with our good friends, Katy and Corey. We grilled out and watched the fireworks with their family and a few friends on Saturday night. Jack was pretty tired by the time the fireworks went off, but I think he still enjoyed them. On Monday, we took the dogs (Maggie and Bogey) swimming at a lake close by Katy and Corey's house. We had a good time watching them swim and jump off the dock. Jack was so tired by the end of the weekend that he fell asleep in Katy's arm before we even had a chance to load him up in the car. He slept almost the entire way home!

Johnson Family Weekend

We celebrated the first annual Johnson Family Weekend at Sun Valley Lake this past weekend. The weather wasn't too great on Friday night and Saturday morning...but it ended up getting much better by Saturday afternoon. Everyone had a great time and we are already looking forward to the next Johnson Family Weekend!

Jack's haircut

Jack got his haircut with Daddy this week. This was actually his second official haircut. Back in April, we trimmed the hair on the back of his head....we couldn't stand to look at the mullet any longer! This time around, we had her trim everything. Jack did a pretty good job of sitting still, given his age. Giving him a sucker definitely helped the process go quicker!

Today was such a beautiful day that we decided to take Jack for his first ride in Daddy's wrangler with the top down. Based on the smiles in the pictures below, I think it's safe to say he enjoyed the ride!
