First week home

It is hard to believe that Jack is already one week old! Things are going well, and everyone is adjusting to our new routine (sleeping, eating, changing diapers, sleeping, eating, changing diapers...). So far he has been a great baby. He sleeps well, eats well and rarely fusses...we hope that continues. Birdie and Bogey seem to really like their new little brother. Birdie wasn't so sure at first, but has come around, and Bogey just can't get enough. He is always aware of Jack's whereabouts and tries to give him as many kisses as he can.

We are off to see the doctor tomorrow for Jack's one week appointment. We are very anxious to check out the scale and see how much the little guy weighs. We will keep everyone updated on his progress.

Baby J has arrived!!

Jack William Johnson arrived at 5:09pm on Friday, April 24, 2009. He weighed 8lbs 5oz and is 20 inches long. Everyone is doing great and we look forward to going home tomorrow!

38 1/2 weeks and counting!

I have reached 38 weeks and am getting more and more uncomfortable by the minute!! At my doctor's appointment last week, I found out that I was 1-2 cm dilated and 90% effaced. Although that really gives me no indication of when this baby will come, I know that something is happening and it at least gives me hope that the end is in sight!!

My last day of work is tomorrow, so I am looking forward to a few days off before the baby comes to do some last minute things around the house and to rest up as much as possible! My next doctor's appointment is on Friday, so I will try to post an update this weekend.

Happy 1st Birthday Avree!

My niece Avree and Grandpa McCulla celebrated their birthdays on Saturday. They both enjoyed their very own cakes (courtesy of Brittany)....but I think its safe to say from the pictures below that Avree enjoyed hers a little more than Dad! I have never seen a 1-year old eat so much cake (and frosting)...I can only imagine the sugar high she was on after every one left. I am sure Matt and Brittany enjoyed that experience!!

35-36 weeks

Here are a few updated belly pics. I am beginning to wonder if this baby will still fit in my tummy four weeks from now....he or she is quickly running out of room!!

Everything went well at my doctor's visit last week. The baby's heartbeat was steady at 148 bpm. I am not dilated yet, but the doctor did say the baby's head was very low....which was good.

The nursery is ready!

We finally received the chair for our nursery a few weeks ago, so now the room is ready for Baby Johnson's arrival!

I have about 6 weeks left in my pregnancy and I find myself getting a little more anxious for all the things I have left to finish both at work and around the house before this baby blesses us with his or her arrival! But in general, I think we are both getting excited to meet this baby and can't believe how close we are getting to that time!!

3D Ultrasound

We had our 3D ultrasound this past Friday! At first, Baby Johnson didn't want to cooperate....but eventually the baby came around and we ended up getting some great pictures.

Baby J currently weighs about 3 lbs 12 oz, which is right on track with my EDD. I was happy to learn the baby's head was down....and hopefully it will stay that way!! As you can see from the pictures, this baby has some chubby little cheeks!! The ultrasound technician also said the baby had lots of hair....I guess that means he or she is truly a Johnson baby!
